he College and Cultural Center Neighborhood Association (CCNA) is pleased to welcome you to our neighborhood. The CCNA works to bring neighbors together in a variety of ways. We hold bi-monthly informational meetings at Mott Community College in the Regional Technology Center auditorium. These meetings are an opportunity for people working on committees such as beautification, safety and ordinance issues to come together and share results, for sharing information with city officials, and for finding consensus for action to improve and preserve the neighborhood.
The College Cultural Neighborhood also has a Neighborhood Watch (CCNW) group which currently provides 4 programs in which we encourage your participation.
Red Alert is a real time notification system, via telephone, of any criminal activity taking place in the neighborhood.
Patrolnotes is an e-mail communication system among those who patrol the neighborhood by walking, drive, or bike riding. The effort discourages undesirable behavior and aids neighbors concerned about suspicious behavior they observe.
Mini-Station is a place, manned by neighbors, where neighbors can meet, talk, and report concerns or suspicious activity. It is located on Commonwealth and Court.
Eyes and Ears. Block captains are the eyes and ears of your block, working with the neighbors to monitor for and report suspicious activity, as well as getting to know everyone on your block. We encourage you to post a Neighborhood Watch sign in your window. You can obtain one, as well as other safety information at Neighborhood meetings, from your block captain, or at the neighborhood mini-station.
